Happy 6 Month's Micah!

Shortly after Dane was born and Saxon turned 2 Micah turned 6 months old. This is a huge deal in our family because he can be officially adopted and more importantly he can be sealed to our family. We have the court date March 4th and we are going to the temple March 7th. We couldn't be more excited for this next week. We love Micah so much. He is the sweetest, cutest little boy. He enjoys sitting and smiling all day long. We are so blessed to have him in our family.

Here is little Micah hopping in the bath. You have to love the little bum.

Happy 2nd Birthday Saxon

Happy 2nd Birthday Saxon. Saxon turned two a week after Dane was born. As you can imagine I was not sure what we were going to do for his birthday. My parents were in town so they decided that Saxon needed a birthday party. The day before we sent a mass text to friends to come to the park and enjoy a good time. HIs friends came and his birthday ended up to be a great day for the sweet little 2 year old.

Here is some of his highlights of the day.

Saxon woke up and Tad made him a great little birthday breakfast.

We then headed over to the park and Saxon enjoyed playing.

He then enjoyed his pizza with his friends on the grass.

Ate some cupcakes with bugs on them because he LOVES bugs!

He then opened presents and loved all of them.

After the great birthday party he came home and opened the rest of his gifts.

Overall a great birthday. We are so extremely lucky to have our little Saxon in our family. He makes me smile everyday and has such an amazing little personality. We couldn't imagine our lives with our precious little boy.

Dane is here!

We are so excited to announce the arrival of Dane Stanley Baltzer. He was born Jan 24th at 2:51 pm weighing 5 lbs 7 ounces and 19 1/4 inches long. It was an exciting and dramatic birth. It started early Sat. morning around 3:00 am. I woke up to some pain that kept on coming. After a while of feeling the pain I finally realized that I am probably having contractions and I should time them. Well by that time it was 4:00 am and they were coming every 3 to 5 mins. I called my mom to see if I was going crazy or if this was really contractions. She told me I was probably in labor so I called my sister April (who was inspired to have her phone on) and asked her to come over. Tad and I arrived at the hospital around 5:30. Here are some pictures of me right when we got to the hospital at 2 days shy of 38 weeks.

I then got hooked up to the machines and they confirmed that I was going to have this baby today. I was contracting around every 2 minutes by then but was only dilated to a 1 -2. So we waited (or should I say I battled the contractions and Tad slept).

After about two hours they checked again and still only dilated 1-2. They then broke my water around 8:30 and that is when the pain really started. Luckily only 20 minutes later the epidural came and life was good. From then I relaxed and enjoyed the quiet and peaceful room. April brought Micah and Saxon over to visit for a while. It was good to see them.

By 1:30 pm I was fully dilated. Then the problems began. Every time I contracted Danes heart rate dropped. They started getting really worried and knew that he was in distress. They said that they would have me try to push but if anything changes in his heart rate they would do an emergency c-section. I was not rooting for the c-section. Around 2:30 I started pushing and Danes Heart rate dropped and stayed down. After about 5 pushes they decided if we want a healthy baby we were going to need to do a crash c-section. Well by this time I was very emotional and started crying not wanting to do a c-section. I felt like I couldn't breath and I started throwing up. During all the craziness they some how managed to cut me open and get Dane out. It was amazing how fast it happened and how I had no clue what was going due to the throwing up and feeling light headed. Dane came out blue with the cord wrapped around his neck and not breathing. They had to supply oxygen to him for about a minute and then he started breathing on his own.

We took a quick picture and then he was sent to the NICU. It was a very scary situation but we were blessed that Dane is here and healthy. Then for the next 3 days he was in the NICU and I was recovery in the hospital room.

Here is Dane and his proud parents

Here are some pictures of some of Danes first visitors while in the hospital.
